New Nash Talent: Not your average boy band
Ahhh boy bands…..we love to love them. It’s the matching hairstyles, outfits, and dance moves that make us swoon. From N’Sync and the Backstreet Boys to the Jonas Brothers and One Direction, they have always captured the hearts of women across the world. So, this post is dedicated to all the boy bands out there, because these cuties deserve endless amounts of love.
While we loved talking about amazing and strong women, today we wanted to talk about boy bands (because c’mon ladies, who doesn’t love cute boys making music together?!). So here we have, some of the hottest boy bands in town, with a little bit of a twist...these boy bands are “not your average boy band!” These boys may not partake in synchronized dance moves or British accents, but they make dang good music that sways from the stereotypical boy band sound.
“Bops & Bangers,” is how the New Schematics describe their sound, in other words it’s a sort of indie rock-alternative pop mix. These boys have been playing together since for over 4 years, but officially became a group early 2015. Since then they have toured across the U.S., released several EP’s, and just recently became runner ups in the annual Road to Roo contest. We discovered these guys through our friend Kathy P who interned for them last year, and we’ve been following their growing success ever since.
The guys find their inspiration from their “deep appreciation for rock and roll music history,” tracing roots all way to the 50s and 60s. They love connecting with their fans through the music they create.
Their ultimate goal: to play to full rooms of people who genuinely want to hear them play, they want those “quality passionate fans before anything else”
Fun fact: their favorite female artists to jam out to “HAIM, The Aces, Liza Anne, Kacey Musgraves and Natalie Prass, the list could go on.” Sidenote y'all: we only asked them for three but they said that choosing only three was too hard!
We absolutely love these guys positive energy and sound; they recently released a new single called “Small Talk,” that is SO fun! We have no doubt that BIGGGG things are coming for this boy band.
This group of energetic, college-aged guys play a fast paced, riff-centric metalcore with melodic choruses and smashing breakdowns. They’ve been together for over 5 years, with Elijah on vocals, Joe and Evan on guitar, Jack on drums, and Bryce on bass. The boys are inspired by several musical influences like: Kilswitch Engage, Phinehas, and Darkness Divided. Jack and Elijah are the masterminds behind the lyrics, writing from their own passions whether that be wildlife preservation or everyday life.
Their ultimate goal: to make music that they can truly be proud of. They aren’t really worried about the numbers they produce, but more the quality of their music.
Fun fact: their post-show celebration is to hand out with the other bands before heading over to Cookout
Their ultimate goal: to “maintain a stable growth,” where they are able to celebrate their music,” and reaching Bonnaroo status.
Fun fact: before every show they huddle behind the stage and remind each other of their love for another (*cue awwws at the bromance*) and their hard work.

Yes, Drive Drive- it is not a miss type. They came up with this name after watching old car chase scenes passengers yelling ‘Just Drive! Drive!’ they just wanted their name to be a call to action to remind themselves to never stop pursuing their dreams.
From left to right- Gavin, Alex, Philip have been together since August. With writing lyrics to practicing they were a perfect match. Drive! Drive! wants to have their own voice that inspires other to create something that they are passionate about. Their music can be described as alternative-pop. Ash was able to catch them at their first show in a cool drive bar in East Nashville, The Cobra. They have a single release party on later this month, so keep your eyes opened for the next hottest show in town.
Their ultimate goal: to reach and connect with as many people as possible and widen their fan base by touring the world and playing in big arenas or music festivals, BUT never losing sight that the band is meant to always have fun.
Fun Fact: their pre-show ritual differs for each bandmate, Alex drinks a coffee and whiskey, Gavin listens to Mr. Brightside by The Killers, and Philip reads fortune cookie notes that he’s had for years & puts on his sweatband.
Ash was scrolling through Instagram when she came across Vacation Manor, she had their music blasting on repeat.
This band of four: Nathan (guitar & vocals), Dane (bass), Cole (drums), and Carson (keys), are based out of Nashville after meeting at a music festival in Lynchburg, VA. Vacation Manor’s sound is classified as Indie Rock, and they simply write songs as it comes to them during their writing sessions. They strive to have serious thoughts and ideas mixed with upbeat music.
Their ultimate goal: is to be heard from radio and eventually music festivals but they personally “want to sustainably make music that believe in and are proud of.”
Fun Fact: If they could collaborate with any female artist on a song they would pick- Kacey Musgraves because “she has one of the most pleasant voices.”
And that’s a wrap. Just some of the coolest guys in town making some of the coolest tunes in town.
