Fall-ing for these events
Hay there! It’s the most wonderful time of the year—it’s fall y’all! And it is time to spice things up. Okay enough puns, but seriously fall is a seriously fun season here in Nashville. There is seriously something to do nearly every night, almost too many options if that’s even possible. Buttttttt we did all the work for you and narrowed the influx of things to do down to 6 events that you just CAN NOT miss this season.
October 11th-October 14th
Germantown
From beer to lederhosen to weiner dog races, this festival is a great celebration of German heritage. Nic has been to this event for the past two years, and it never disappoints. It’s got lively music, great food, and is a great opportunity to engage with the community. This a 4-day festival, so there really is no excuse to not make it out there at least one day for a stein of beer.
October 19th-21st
Long Hunter State Park
Long Hunter State Park
Neither of us have been able to make it out to this annual event, but we are HUUUUGE supporters of cultural events, because they are fun and educational. It is so important to learn and understand our neighbors, and this Pow Wow is a great way to learn about the Native American heritage. It’s hosted by the Native American Indian Association, and they are sure to put on an authentic event that will be great for families and adults.
October 27th
Cheekwood
Hands down one of our favorite events of the year. Cheekwood is absolutely beautiful, rain-or-shine it is guaranteed fun. There are activities for all ages, from arts & crafts, live music and dance exhibits, and of course--the food. This event is a wonderful celebration of this Hispanic culture. Grab some churros and a seasonal fall cocktail from the beer garden as you wander around the garden grounds, exploring the marketplace and Cheekwood mansion.
October 27th, 11AM-4PM
Centennial Park
It is a pity that both the Dia de los Muertos Festival and the Pittie Party are on the same day, so you’ll either have to choose one or carefully plan to squeeze both in (like we plan on doing!).
The Pittie Party is an absolute blast, bringing all the dog lovers together to celebrate one of the most “controversial” breeds--pitbulls. This event is especially cool because it raises awareness and funds for this misunderstood breed. If you come to this event you will no doubt be surrounded by dogs of all breeds and shapes and sizes, but mainly pitbulls, and the best part?! They’ll be dressed up in costumes. So if you have a dog that gets along with others, bring them out because they’ll gain many other 4-legged friends (and treats!).
November 10th, 11AM-5PM
Track One
Project 615 is constantly throwing fantastic FREE events, but this is one of the best. You’ll find everything from jumbo party games, live music and art installments, food trucks, and vendors. Come out with your friends and family, and have a blast. Don’t forget to support local and grab an iconic ‘NASH,’ hat from the Project 615 booth while you’re here!
November 10th, 10PM-2AM
Limelight
This is for all you party animals out there. One of the hottest parties of the year, hosted by Clean Boy Promotions. Similar to a traffic light, where green if you’re single, red if you’re taken, and yellow if it’s complicated. We’ll be out there in green, single and ready to mingle. The host, Shady Chris, is actually a fellow college student here in Nashville, and he is always throwing hot parties that get sold out--so buy your ticket in advance!! Oh yeah, and Riff Raff will be there if good music and a fun theme isn’t enough to convince you.
We are already getting excited for these events just writing about it. Starting with Oktoberfest—which is going on right now!! So go out, explore, and have fun, whether it be these events or another amazing event that Nashville has to offer.
Let us know what event you are most looking forward to this season. Wait and see what we’ll do next!
