Back by popular demand: European Nicolette

Hola! Bonjour! Hallo! Ahoj! Ciao! γεια σας!

...Yeah that last one’s Greek, not quite sure how to even go about pronouncing that one. It’s me, it’s Nic--but now I am Nic the world traveler, back from a 2-month trip around Europe. 23 cities in 11 countries, meeting millions of people speaking 6 different languages. This was the time of my life, I cannot put into actual words just how perfect this trip was...but I am going to try. In a 4-part blog post I am going to dive deep into how, where, and why I am traveled.

Today I’m not going to go into too much detail (Ash says I do that too often, booo), and instead I’m just going to give you a quick overview of my trip.

Who...

Me, ya girl. Traveling the world, with 30 other guys and girls.

What...

As I mentioned earlier, 11 countries in 2-months. I absolutely love planning and organizing everything in my life...but there is no way that I would have ever been able to put this trip together without going through EF Ultimate Break. I signed up for the ‘Ultimate Europe Trip’ and then also extended the trip because 5 weeks was just not enough!

While EF is extremely costly, you receive many benefits from it that balances out with the cost. I was traveling solo (scary), but met a group full of travelers that made traveling so much more fun! EF does all the planning from coordinating flights, transfers, hotel stays, public transportation passes, museum passes, food and activity recommendations, and excursion options.

When...

Summer 2018. And yes I know that it’s nearly December and I am JUST now writing this, BUT y’know life is hectic (and better late than never!). In case you were wondering, Summer 2018 in Europe broke records for its high temperatures, there was an actual heat wave going on in Madrid when I got to Europe. But y’know what the hotter it was the more of an excuse I had to drink sangria after sangria.

Where...

This is my beautiful EF trip itinerary, and my extension was to Ireland. We traveled by plane, train, ferry, metro, bus, and 4-wheeler--more details to come on that part. We stayed in hostels, hotels, and ski lodges. It was crazy madness walking miles upon miles, sleeping on long bus rides, waking up way too early and staying up way too late, but I wouldn’t have it any other way!

Why…

Fresh out of college, with no real job or relationship tying me down. The best time to travel is when you have no commitments so that you can take off and just go. To be wild and free is something that I am only able to truly experience when I am traveling the world, experiencing new things, and meeting new people.

This trip was everything that I didn’t know that I was missing but it fulfilled every desire that I longed for. I drank champagne under the twinkling Eiffel Tower. I got lost on a double decker bus and ended up in a magical park, I hiked up to wandered through Sleeping Beauty’s castle,  I paraglided through the Swiss Alps, I rode a yacht throughout the Greek islands and swam through the beautiful teal ocean sea.

Life is meant to be experienced and lived to the fullest extent. And can we really do that by not seeing the world? Traveling gives you this understanding of how and why people are the way they are because you see their culture, their lifestyle, and their history with your own two eyes.

And yeah, so part 1 of my European getaway is complete. Short and sweet, just how Ash likes it. Stay tuned for part 2, where I’ll give you a rundown on what exactly I got into in Europe. As always, wait and see what we’ll do next!
