Brunch so hard
So today we are going to be talking about, of course ~brunch~. And we have a list of our top 10 places around town to satisfy all your brunch needs.
Up first we have the perfect spot for a quick bite while out on the town, located right on the outskirts downtown. They start with a smoothie base, which can be layered with your choice of fresh fruit, fresh honey, fresh grounded peanut butter, and other fresh toppings. There are so many options to choose from you’ll have no choice but to keep going back to try them all. The best part?! It’s dog-friendly, so sit outside with your four-legged friend, eating your rush bowl, while your pup can snack on his or her very own pup bowl. Pro tip: ask for a dollop of their sugar-free but totally delicious vanilla yogurt on top.
There’s only one negative to brunch, and that’s the wait. So if you’re on a time crunch, or just want to go out somewhere a little more lowkey we have the spot for you. Red Bicycle offers some bangin’ crepes (sweet and savory!!) and perfectly crafted coffee drinks. It’s light on the wallet and has a great ambiance to get some work done or meet up with some friends. We like to change up our crepe order but we ALWAYS stick to our iced cuban.
It’s like hibachi style brunch food! If you plan on sitting back and relaxing, you are wrong. This ~pfunky~ place is interactive, and just as much work as it is fun. With a griddle on every table, you can make everything from pancakes and french toast to eggs and sausage. They supply the pancake batter and a choice of endless toppings. Located in the quaint Berry Hill neighborhood, this restaurant is a unique brunch spot and such a fun adventure.
A travel-inspired brunch spot?! This place was practically made for us, and anyone else that has been infected with wanderlust. So grab your passport (not necessary but would make for a cute photo op) and head over to Terminal Cafe. It’s a bit of a tight spot but their brown sugar bacon is worth it! The only thing better than the food is the staff, they make this place feel like a second home. Located right in Eastland makes for a great opportunity to check out the amazingly cute boutiques next door. Pro tip: ask for one of their seasonal iced lattes!
This place will be missed. If you have tried Terminal Cafe then you know how much we are suffering from no longer being able to order their brown sugar bacon.
The Southern is notorious for their freshly delivered and delicious oysters, but they also have a killer brunch menu. It’s a bit more upscale, but well worth the cost and the wait. So feel good and get yourself all dolled up in your Sunday best and enjoy a deliciously crafted brunch. Ash’s go to is a southern staple, the classic “chicken and waffles,” served in the perfect portion. Pro tip: while you’re waiting in their inevitable long line go to the bar and grab a freshly squeezed fruit juice mimosa.
Super healthy & super fresh. First Watch is a must-go, and you can’t go wrong with ANYTHING on their menu. It’s literally all so good, from their freshly squeezed juices to their million dollar bacon, we have never had a bad meal from here. It’s all locally sourced so you can feel good about supporting all your hard working local farmers. Their seasonal menu is always so scrumptious and unique, perfect to fit all your seasonal taste buds--whether that be lemon blueberry or pumpkin spice.
What could possibly make brunch better? How about a bar, and bowling, and a pool, and games?! Pinewood Social is what you might call “hipster heaven,” full of picture perfect people and food. Their menu has endless options, and you can eat it at a booth, at the bar, on a couch, or outside by the pool! Pro tip: if you’re balling on a budget go for their “Have It Your Way,” option. You can get 3 brunch items for $12.
This is a consistent brunch spot for Ash’s family. From their eggs benedict to steak and eggs, everything is complemented with delicious sides and sauces. And they cannot leave without an order of their deviled eggs and bacon; they just can’t compare.
And last but not least, our all time favorite. We have been here on numerous occasions. Their brunch menu AND coffee menu has us coming back for more, trying to taste a bit of everything. We are partial to their milk & honey latte, and their lavender latte. This is a great place to go with a big group or just one friend, there’s plenty of seating and they have a prime spot right in the beautiful Gulch (next to the ‘wings’ mural!). Pro tip: leave room for gelato, yumm.
With so many options in Nashville, you really can’t go wrong. This may sound cheesy, but brunch is more than just a meal. Brunch gives you that time away from your hectic life to eat a meal with your loved one, family, or friends--and we all need a little break from reality sometimes. So after you’re done reading this we’re gonna need you to text up your gal pals and schedule brunch this weekend, because girllll you earned it.
