¡Hola to all from Madrid, Spain!

Ash here, and I wanted to just give y’all a little insight on what I am doing. First off I am 100 percent missing Nic, but living it up in Madrid.
Just a quick update on life:
I am now a graduate!! I am interning at Access Info Europe as their Communication Officer. I have been in Madrid for about three weeks now and have been running on coffee, sangria, and tapas, (small Spanish savory dishes, typically served with drinks at a bar).
Now getting into the specifics:
I am a 15-minute walk to a very touristy area called Plaza Mayor, which is a 1-minute walk from where I work. There are about 10 others in this Internship program, which sets us up in different positions and companies across the city, geared toward our career goals. The best part is that we all get along so well, we are constantly wanted to hang out...RIP to my bank account.
Some touristy things:
I visited and attended a game at the Santiago Brenabéu Stadium, home of Real Madrid CF. There is a museum within the stadium that is amazing--even though everyone in my family is a Barcelona fan.
I have visited Toledo, Spain also known as the “city with three cultures,” because of Islamic, Hebrew, and Christian occupants. I was literally in awe by all the beautiful architecture.
Traditional foods:
I have eaten all the tapas, and I have had some of the best sangria and a buttt ton of café con leche (coffee with milk). The only downfall is that not many places here have almond milk… BUT, for the tapas, the most common dish are tortilla española, croquetas, patatas bravas, olives, and jamón. The best part about Spain, that it is very common to order a drink and you receive a free tapa with your drink.
Night Life:
According to all of the United States, “the south” is very slow, and those people obviously haven’t been out of the country..more specifically they haven’t been to Spain. This country is so beautiful in so many ways which somewhat includes the service/lifestyle.
Everything here is ~chill~
Which includes the nightlife… Dinner is usually at 10 p.m. then followed by pre-drinks at a bar, then another bar till finally, you find your bar of choice or club. Most clubs do not get crowded until 1:30 a.m. (my southern tendencies are ready for bed at this time). But having to rally through my the night usually can end at 4 a.m. or later. The nightlife in Madrid is definitely a different atmosphere that I am slowly having a love/hate relationship (mostly love).
Both photos were taken at Nomad Club
Madrid has literally been a dream and a constant chain of ~amazing~ events. I have met so many amazing people from around the world, all I want to do is travel. So...wait and see what we'll do next!
