As big Maneet Chauhan fans, we decided to check out alllllll of her restaurants. That’s right, Nashville is the proud home of not 1 but all 4 of Maneet’s restaurants. Keep reading below for a short description and review of each of Maneet’s restaurants. All are quite classy establishments, with elevated menus--which is to be expected from a Food Network extraordinaire.
Maneet’s pride and joy as her first restaurant, due to its wild success led to three more very popular eateries here in Nashville. A combination of traditional Indian cuisine paired with good ole’ southern cooking--Maneet is pulling from her hometown roots and her newfound home here in the dirty south. Our menu favorites are: ‘Cheese Naan Knots,’ ‘Braised Duck Leg Sorpotel,’ and ‘Tandoori Skirt Steak.’ Don’t leave without trying the ‘Bollywood Smash’ cocktail and the ‘Jalebi Cake’ dessert.
We had been eating here before we even knew it was owned and operated by our girl. Of the four restaurants this has the most unique flavors, straying from the asian fusion route and taking bits and pieces from all across the world. It’s whimsical atmosphere and menu is complete with the perfect rooftop setting. Besides their killer happy hour specials they also have Tiki Taco Tuesdays for all those tortilla cravings. Our menu favorites are: the ‘Hey Dumplin’,’ ‘Belly of the Feast,’ and ‘The Bird is the Word.’ Don’t leave without trying their daily special ‘Punchin’ Bag’ cocktail and ‘The Inside Scoop’ dessert.
Directly translating to “to explore,” in Cantonese, Nashvillians raveeee about this restaurant describing it as the perfect modern day Chinese menu. You have to take advantage of their weekly specials--Wok & Wonton Wednesdays, Dim Sum Cart Service Sundays & Mondays, and Sake Sundays. Our menu favorites are: the ‘Firecracker Wontons,’ ‘Crispy Togarashi Potato Hash,’ ‘Crab Stuffed Shrimp Rangoon.’ Don’t leave without trying ‘The Beijing’ cocktail and the ‘Black Sesame Creme Brulee’ dessert.
Maneet’s newest and most colorful of her restaurants does not leave any guest disappointed. The menu is inspired by its name “chaat,” which is a category of Indian street food that means “to lick.” The decor is setup to have guests feel as if they are stepping into an Indian bazaar, with the vibrant, flashy colors and ornaments. You will be simply stunned by the sights and smells coming from Chaatable. Our menu favorites are: ‘Hand it over!,’ ‘The. O.G.,’ ‘Shammi The Way.’ Don’t leave without trying the ‘Cinnamon Girl’ cocktail and the ‘Full on Falooda’ dessert.
Chauhan, Mockingbird, Tansuo, and Chaatable are all beautifully aesthetic, wonderfully authentic, and have great selections. Whether you are stopping by for a meal, happy hour, or brunch you will be as pleased as we were!
Maneet is a total rockstar, support her by dining out at one of her restaurants listed above, purchasing one of her cookbooks, or by signing up for one of her cooking classes. She is truly a gem, and Nashville is lucky to have her!
