Galentine's with a Twist

Gals, it is that time of year again. Romance and love, hearts and flowers--the dreaded Valentine’s day holiday for all those single ladies. Well Galentine’s day is that perfect fun excuse to turn this lovey dovey holiday to a celebration of friendship.

Here we have the perfect recipe for a perfect Galentine's day spent with loved ones. The most important step for a Galentine’s Day celebration is to gather your nearest and dearest girlfriends. Being surrounded by your best girls makes this unofficial holiday that much sweeter. In honor of our gal, Kierstin’s recent engagement, we decided to throw a Galentine’s themed lingerie shower for her. Combining this sweet and sassy combo, made for such a fun treat. Below are the five ways we celebrated our Galetntine’s Day!

 Photo Ops 

  

A girl's dream, the perfect photo with your beautiful friends. Setting up a cute backdrop helps make for a picture perfect event. It doesn’t need to be anything too fancy, oftentimes a DIY booth makes for the best setup. We went for the rose gold streamers along with a ring-shaped foil balloon. All these items can be found at your nearest Target or Dollar Tree - which won’t break the bank.

  

If you are looking for the PERFECT selfie, be sure to check out a new business that just popped up in East Nashville, Celfie Vibes. This place is owned and operated by a local babe, with over 20+ backgrounds with fun props and bold colors--you are sure to get some great snapshots with your friends.

 Snacks 

Besides the guac and queso dip there should always be something sweet on the snack table. For this season, chocolate covered strawberries are a must on Ash’s list.

 

We hosted an early afternoon brunch party and decided to start the day off right by whipping up a brunch menu with all the good stuff. Pancakes with fresh berries and warm syrup, and crispy bacon of course. Don’t forget...“food eats first.”

As y’all know brunch is not completed without drinks! We all love a good old fashion mimosa with brunch, but if you are looking to set aside the alcohol, try out some fun mocktails!

 Games 

Games are a great way to loosen up and get in the party mood. We found a few fun, themed games for you to check out:

• matching game that tests your knowledge of popular chick flick couples,
• v-day themed Pictionary game, and
• Minute win it games involving all things hearts and conversation candies

As this was a lingerie shower, all the girls were tasked with bringing a gifted piece of lingerie for the guest of honor. Kierstin had to guess who brought each gift, as we left all cards and names off of the gift bags and boxes. We must have gone four rounds before Kierstin was able to accurately match the present to the girl! This made for lots of laughs as she tried to match the personality of the girl to the present!

 Crafts 

While arts & crafts are often associated with bratty kids, we love having an outlet for our creativity. This makes for the perfect excuse to get artsy with your friends. This doesn’t have to cost a lot, just make the best out of some construction paper, markers, and stickers galore.

We took colorful paper and cut them out into hearts, leaving sweet notes to friends and family members near and far. It is always nice to remind people just how much you love them--and a heart-shaped letter certainly sends that message. Also a cheap option is to just print out some v-day coloring pages, because really, who doesn’t love to color?

We wanted to make a fun memento for Kierstin, out of a lipstick guestbook that we saw on Pinterest. We had everyone bring their favorite, bold color to leave their lip print and sign their name! This guestbook is so easy to do, and looks so cute when framed.

 Movies 

Movies are a great way to wind down from all the Galentine’s fun. We are both excited for the sequel from To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, called To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You. We cannot wait to see what Lara Jean will do now that her Model UN crush is in the picture, can anyone say love triangle?! The sequel is coming out on February 12, just in time to plan your own Galentine’s Day party?! Netflix has an enormous list of RomComs to choose from, but any movie that all your girls love will fit the bill.

 Events 

Now if you are not into all this DIY stuff, Nashville is loaded full of great events, all revolved around Galentine’s. Here are a list of nine fun that any girl would have fun at:
